Hi guys, having a spot of bother with my maschine at the mo. I run it connected to a D-Link powered USB hub, which in turn is plugged into my laptop. My X1MK2 and F1 are run through my Z2 mixer’s USB ports with no problems. The other day however the maschine didnt start up with its usual light show and a little error message popped up saying it was drawing too much power and had been disabled.
I have tried plugging the maschine straight into my laptop and the Z2 to no avail, and all other USB devices work fine using the powered USB device. I’ve swapped the USB cables round in various combinations and all point to the maschine being the issue, as they work fine (inc the USB packaged with maschine) with the other controllers.
Is there something missing or is my maschine kaput?
Argh, i can retract the previous about the other USB devices working fine through the powered hub. I’ve just tried the X1 and the hub light flashed and the error message came up again. Now the X1 has the same issue. It would seem anything previously put through the hub gets rejected as drawing too much power! Anyone have an answer?
You said that plugging Maschine straight into the laptop doesn’t work, then said other USB devices through the hub don’t work. Does that mean nothing works reliably through USB at all?
Oh the USB is fine. Example being the X1-- Working fine with all cables straight into the USB ports. Then Connected through the Powered hub and it has the power error message. Tried connecting the X1 straight into the USB port and the error message repeats.
All other bits and pieces are working fine (F1/Z2) through the USB ports but im worried that if i test them on the powered hub they’ll go the same way as the Maschine and the X1
It seems to be the mac remembers anything used with the hub as a risk and shuts it off.
