Maschine problem - In/ Out port won’t turn on?

I am trying to sync Maschine with Traktor. Tried out a third party virtual midi driver called Midi Yoke. It worked somehow, but the bpm keept changing all the time, causing the sequensed loop to sound very weird. So I decided to try out connecting S4 midi out to the Maschine midi IN with a standard midicable the same way as I used to do with Traktor and my Korg Kaoss Kp3, but for some reason I can’t switch the midi settings on Maschine midi ports to ON - Do I need to do something other to enable the midi ports?
