Master Light Just Keeps Blinking
I plug my controller in after I had installed the software and the light is just blinking. Windows is telling me it could not install the device and nothing is detected in Traktor. Any advice here?
Did you update? There’s 1.0.1 that you need to update to and new drivers for windows on S4.
Hm that might be it. Do I just run Service Center for that?
Yes and then calibrate your jog wheels.
Before I drive myself crazy…the controller should still be detected and work even if my Traktor software is not registered right? I am just lost as to why it is not even being picked up now.
You shouldn’t plug it in until you put the update on. I would uninstall and start fresh. Do not plug in S4 untill you are all updated.
I was fully updated and it still wouldn’t recognize. I have tried on two different computers now for whatever reason it wont recognize the controller.
Dunno. Have you tried a different USB cable?
Make sure you dont have the controller plugged in while youre updating or installing the software drivers…sounds like you didnt but just trying to be helpful
I gave up trying to get the drivers to go on my Windows 7 machines. My Macbook Pro however (latest generation) is saying too much power being drawn =(
Sigh looks like it wasn’t meant to be with me and the S4. I cant get it to work with my MBP and I even bought a powered USB hub to see if I stopped getting that USB power message nonsense.
i only know this usb power message when not doing the electronics right (e.g. soldering the wrong things). could be a damaged S4. you have access to another unit (from a friend maybe) to test if it’s the S4 itself.?!
Nah I don’t know anyone else with an S4 unfortunately. I mean I did buy an open box unit but it should still work. I am kind of hoping it’s just a damaged unit cause the second I took it out of the box I fell in love with it. I was just disappointed I couldnt even mess around with it.
did you buy it in a local store? go back there, take your laptop with you and try a different unit..

I had the same issue with the blinking button. The issue occurred after my computer went to sleep. Upon wake the HID functions of the S4 would not work on TP2 but sound was outputting on the main. I turned off the s4 and it still wouldn’t work, I unplugged it and the same issue happened. Finally I rebooted which solved the issue.
You are using the wall wart ( power adapter) right?
