Mastering Question.
After I run my bank of eq’s, compressors, etc the track ends up a little quiet…so I normalize it to -.01 db…is this the correct way to go about this or am I messing up the audio at all?

Everyone will have a different opinion on what you should do from here, but what I personally do is instead of normalizing at the very end is using a maximizer to do anywhere from 3-6dB of gain reduction and adjust that to taste. Then I set the maximum output to -0.3dB. I set this to -0.3dB for no particular reason. I could set it to -0.1 or -0.03dB like you. Basically, you want to set it to anything below 0dB to “avoid clipping”.
ahh ok…do you get a better sound with the maximizer?
Here’s another approach:
Some good reads…definitely food for thought…read your mixing article as well…pretty much what I try to do…gave me some ideas for eq-ing individual channels better to sweeten the mix. Thanks!

I am currently working on getting examples up of my work however getting the rights to do this is taking time #peopledontansweremails
You could also try using a limiter on your master bus. It’s basically another type of compression. Remember this article? I always refer to it when I’m stuck on compression.
Estimate the percent error in measuring a distance of about 75 cm with a meter stick.
