MF Classic Mod Help

MF Classic Mod Help

Ok I did my best to read all the threads on this but I haven’t found all the questions I have yet…

First off… the new boards have a 10 pin header connection. I saw these being used by the MF Pros. I picked up a standard 10 pin PCB Mount connection but the pins seem a bit thicker the the holes.

is there a certain type you guys use?

Second… I found the knobs to uses…

but I’m still having trouble with faders.

all the ones I have seen posted are 60mm and I’m trying to find 45mm faders. Plus I would like to find something with a more scratch mixer feel.

I have a set of P&G faders from a old scratch mixer. I love these faders!

But I’m guessing they are not 10k.

I found these on Mouser…

But I’m worried that they will feel cheep.

Can you recommend any good heavy duty 45mm faders?

Thanks for the help.

Heya punkpc,

The header you have there should be fine - as long as the pins line up with the holes just force it in.

Faders I cant really help you with - we had to source ours direct from the manufacturer, you should be able to manage to get the Penny & Giles Faders working though, impedance (resistance) does not really matter.

If you find a data sheet for them and post back here Ill be happy to help you decipher it.

So the pin header fit… I was just being nervous and not pushing hard enough.

It works nicely so you can switch from classic to pro model.

Here is the spec sheet for the faders…

Thanks again for the help!

Ok so from the data sheet we can see they are dual channel faders - since we are using it for Midi not stereo audio we only need one channel.

Connect the Pink Wire to +5V, the Purple wire to GND, and the Orange wire to one of the analog inputs.

Let me know how you get on!

any idea what mouser part that header is?!

Thanks for the info… I have been super busy at work and haven’t had a chance to try this out yet… I’m going to try to give it a shot this weekend. I’ll keep you posted

Not sure… I got mine at Fry’s Electronics.

futurlec has got those headers!!!

also, does anyone know where to get center detent potentiometers?

They can be found through mouser.

This is the part we use RK09L114001T
