MF3D traktor remix deck C

MF3D traktor remix deck C

Hey boys

I’m remapping my MF3D based on Stewe’s MF3D remix deck C, since it seems that it no longer works for some versions of traktor (I’m running traktor pro 2.7.3).

I’d like to map the 2 first left top rectangular buttons as pages selectors 3 and 4, and the 16 buttons triggering accordingly.

It is working just fine so far for page 3. However when I switch to page 4, I see the page going down on traktor but the samples don’t trigger…

Those samples are running under the condition: sample page select rmx deck C=page 4.
When I change the page manually with the mouse it’s working just fine, so the problem comes from pressing the 2nd rectangular button.

I got the MF utility installed and up to date, I guess that the firmware is interfering with my mappings?

Hey trabz,

Thanks for your feedback.
The mapping for MF3D Remix decks C and D should work just fine with TP 2.6 and all newer versions. There really is no exception since the Remix Deck mappings hadn’t been changed in any way.

On the other side, by importing the MF settings your MF3D should be properly set up for use with my mapping.
The crutial part here is to enable the “Four Banks Enabled Hold” mode so the MF3D can track both deck mappings in Traktor.

You should also check the “Deck Target” assignment for both devices in the mapping. They should be set to each deck respectively:

Let me know it that helps!

Hi Stewe,

Everything is set as you wrote, I doubled checked this morning again. The MF is sending midi signals to traktor (I see the CTRL blue dot blinking when pressing buttons) but doesn’t control the remix deck, at all (none of the mapped controls are working).

Pretty weird huh

Thanks for your help anyway

BTW I noticed that when I press the 3rd button on the right side of the MF3D, the top left hand rectangular button which was lit goes off, and goes on again if I repress the 3rd button on the right side

Don’t really think this is normal

When I use the buttons on the left side of the mf as page selector, it’s working perfectly. Problem is I still want to use the rectangular buttons for page change :disappointed:

OK. I understand now.
You are safer to start your own mapping than to unravel the modifier setup in the mapping you’re trying to edit.

Please give me a week or so for this mapping - I will create a new version which addresses the page selector with top buttons.

Hi Stewe,

I started all over again in a new generic midi, I’m not modifying or editing your own mapping ! This is why I don’t understand..

You’re very kind, don’t worry I’ve got plenty of time, I’ll try to do it to save you some time!

Well I tried almost everything that crossed my mind… No positive result

I’ll reset it to factory setings to try. And try to use it w-o the firmware installed

This is exactly why I was a bit cold about buying those MFs, I’m not able to do whatever I want to…

Cool - so you’re having troubles with applying some stuff from my MF3D mapping in to your own custom one.
Please attach file as where you’re with it right now and I could take a look.

Hi Stewe,

Well I didn’t map a lot since I couldn’t fix this page selector/clip triggering on rectangular bank 2, but you’ll get the idea. The MF Twister uses the 1st 2 pages for rmx deck D, the MF3D will use page 3-4.

Regarding the settings

Thank you for your help

PS: Maybe you use it already but if you don’t, you should try sandboxie, it will allow you to run 2x traktor on the same computer, I use it to compare configs, it’s a huge win of time

Fixed

I found the problem in the mapping.Your 3rd and 4th page were both assigned to midi notes from the MF Bank 1.
I just switched to MF Bank 2 and remapped all sample cell triggers dedicated to page 4 and it worked!

Thanks a lot Stewe !!

I would never had found out the error without you

Glad I could assist with that
Cheers,
