Miami Winter Music Conference 2009

Hey there fellow DJ tech toolers,

I am hoping to go to the WMC this year, always wanted to go.

I am currently working out prices for flights tickets etc, and was wondering if anyone here was a resident of Miami who would kindly provide me with a sofa to crash whilst I am out there!

If anyone can help pm me.

I can’t wait for WMC this year. It’s going to be in my backyard, so I’m in for the whole thing!

I might do like 4 or 5 days this year . The last two years down there were a bit draining but well worth it . I just dont know if I wanna do 7 or 8 days on South Beach again .

If you need to a place to stay look on craigslist .com and stay far away from Suites of Dorchester .

let me talk about it with my family if my girl said yes ofcourse u can land on my sofa i dont see a problem my friends stay here all the time.

I’ll probably hit up a few of the free instore performances, and maybe do remix hotel again this coming year…

Dude hit the Delano free parties as well as all the free parties sponsored by Scion both had free booze and food the last 2 years . Do not buy a WMC pass it’s a huge waste of money .

yeah i never buy a WMC pass… i’m a sucker for free RSVPs!

which the Delano Day parties and Scion parties are . I hook anyone who needs rsvp links up as the WMC gets closer . Last year and the year before Scion had an RSVP boat party that was insane .

I don’t think wmc pass is a waste of money…if you coming just for the parties then you see it as a waste of money but actually there is a lot of things going on.

Like workshops,demo of new equipments,classes.parties and much more

The one year I did buy the pass Remix hotel was way more educational than the actual conference . Junkie XL’s Logic class last year was pretty good .

I always buy the wmc pass because includes admission 2 ultra music festival anyways …remix hotel was amazing I learn so many techniques and atuff with it but is worth it buyong the wmc that’s just my opinion lmao

That’s cool man . I wasn’t really feelin Ultra when I actually went 2 years ago but if you are into the whole festival thing that does make the pass worth it .

I just checked out Ultra’s most current lineup and it is SIIIIICKKK. Cut Copy, The Presets, Simian Mobile Disco, Hercules & Love Affair, Deadmau5, Crystal Castles, Busy P are all confirmed for March 28th. Le Castle Vania’s MySpace shows that he has shows scheduled throughout WMC week (including some in the form of his Lies in Disguise project).

I kicked myself for missing this year’s Ultra, and swore I wouldn’t make the same mistake again. Really looking forward to it!

Chances are you’ll be able to see all those people at much better parties during WMC .

That too! Haven’t really heard about what else is going on during the week, though I expect the usual spots like Vagabond, White Room, and PS14 to host some big names.

I’m sure they will they always do . I try to never miss Jazzanova and Bugz in the Attic @ Sobe Live when I’m there it’s always one of those parties that give me tingles all night long . I’m praying Scion throws some kind of crazy loft party again as well .

I also will come to the WMC this year - I also will play at some parties on saturday and sunday - I will become the dates this or next week.

I have to pay the flight, hotel and the wmc registration by myself but i think it will be a good way to make connections with guys like YOU ! :slight_smile:

Can you help me to find a place to sleep ? or a cheap hotel ? :confused:
