michael133’s setup

ive recently got into djaying and currently this is my setup but im looking at getting myself a kontrol s2/s4 in the near future.

Looks like a good start. But you might want to put your monitors the right way, because your stereo field is now up and down instead of left and right.

i have them that away due to space and have worked in top end recording studios who have near field monitors placed like mine i will admit i prefer them upright but am limited on space hence y they r placed like they are

i decided the old desk and shelf was not good enough so decided to hand make a new desk and this is the result

new gear being ordered very soon

lovin the set up.

new gear added
contour IE
vci100 with firmware update to 1.4 (need to get overlay for DJTT V4 mapping

and for ripping vinyl i got a gemini XL-300

Nice. How do you like your Profire interface? Owned one, loved it.. Went to laptop.. no firewire.. Bummer!

i personnally love it and yeah hence why i stick with macs as firewire is a must as i love the preamps on the profire tho loving the output on the contour aswell.

Love the new desk! Curious as how you utilize two similar 25 key midi controllers? With the monitors they still don’t seem in optimal position for you to get full use out of them. You want them to make an equilateral triangle with your head. Might consider some elevation and mounting the computer monitor so you can get them closer. But def looks like a fun set up!

i plan on raising the monitors and screens very soon and i mainly use 1 keyboard but when both are plugged in i have the set to different midi i/o or just on different octaves as i only have 2 coz of a youth project i started and ran until the funding ended

latest additions include some RGB led lighting, kontrol f1, and raising the speakers and monitor and also running everything on a '07 mac pro at home soon adding twin 22" monitors for production usage.

figured as i took some pics this morning of the arcade mod done to my vci100 i may aswell upload an image of it to my setup thread
