midi 101

hey all, i’m new to dj TT and the midi world - i’m trying to sell my tables and mixer and go strictly digital. i plan to start iwth the VCI-100 and traktor set up - probably an NI audio 4 sound card

so i’m looking for a site that will help me wrap my brain aruond how midi works.

also i want to know if new vci’s ship with firmware updates already done? i’m not confident i could take something apart and update it when i’ve never really used midi stuff b4.

and i’m trying not to post on too many different things here, but i’d like to know what people think about duo vs pro vs Traktor 3. i used torq before and two decks are plenty so duo kind of appeals cuz i’ll still get effects and i think i’d still be able to record my mixes in traktor.

You can buy a unit right off our webstore - they are the only new units that you can buy with the 1.3 firmware on them.

and not all SE’s have arcade buttons right?

Any VCI-100 you buy on the store comes with the 1.3 firmware - doesnt matter if you buy the arcade button ones or the regular ones you will get it.
