# MIDI clock sync with Traktor and Maschine

**MIDI clock sync with Traktor and Maschine**

Hello all,

Unfortunately I have a Windows laptop with Traktor and Machine.  
I have tried to sync Traktor with Maschine. It works but I’m not able to use this live as the clocks are always off.  
The sync between Traktor and Maschine via a virtual MIDI wire (LoopBE) and have Traktor set as master does not work for me.  
I need to have a stable MIDI clock sync. Not one that is drifting off.

Because the Windows MIDI clock is cr\*p I was thinking about an external MIDI clock device (a synth or whatever) and use this as a master. Then sync Traktor and Maschine to this clock.

Do you know if this will work and if this could help me with getting a reliable sync between Traktor and Maschine?  
I would hook up my laptop via my Presonus AudioBox 1818VSL and connect the Maschine MIDI IN to the AudioBox MIDI OUT.
