Me and my buddy spent probably 6 hours on every search engine and checking everythread in DJTT for this. Alas, we have found it! For anyone trying to make their own IG Mapping for a numpad mod or an MPD- here is your most helpful tool… i think.
I’ve only been able to find 2 extra notes, which in decimal are 9 when all 4 mash buttons are pressed in any order, and 8 when the bottom 4 buttons are pressed in order left to right.
indeed thanks again for that midi-research. @derschaich i’ll be modding your script with the super combo’s. its not trivial to make it just like the mf but simple to make it send out the extra notes just when all combo buttons are mashed together.
it’s been posted on a whole stack of threads the last few weeks but being here wont hurt any. i found it tricky to find the other month.
as FEP said tho - there’s two mappings. one for standard mode (which you can use with the deckalised tsi mapping file) and the more complicated 4banks mode (which you need for the instant grat mapping)
if anyone wants to mess with virtual midifighters on their launchpad (up to 4 per page ofc) in either normal or 4banks mode i’ll be releasing my midi masher software soon that allows that. just real work is a tad too manic atm to get that finished.
edit: i’ve been having fun with one 4banks mode mf and two normal ones on one launchpad page tho while testing does make me want at least one real mf sometime…
edit edit: my software app isnt launchpad centric - it just processess midi - but does have some grid controller extra functions that are useful on the lp etc.
yep. you can choose any 4x4 grid on any grid controller to emulate a midifighter - either in normal mode or 4banks mode.
haven’t added in the supercombo’s yet - but will as soon as i get a chance after first putting them into a glovepie script for gamepads too, thanks to FEP for digging out the combo info for me the other day.
you can also create virtual faders and stuff and in theory have as many pages/banks as needed. the software is almost done (multi page code to finish) and then once it’s reasonable tested i’ll post a download link in a new thread. the app is windows but in theory should compile on a mac but i don’t have one.
the other reason why i started writing it is i got fed up with the traktor controller editor. i’ve created one big tsi with all the ins and outs that i (think) i’ll need (tho can add more ofc later) and theres a config file which gives them names. so i need never to use the controller editor again in theory…
the code to create the virtual midifighters works a bit differently. you set those to send/recv to their own virtual midi ports and then just use the mf tsi’s as is from this site…
ah - after all my rambling i just realised you were only asking about the super combo’s… so not yet - but i will add them to my code and also your glovepie script just as soon as i have a few free moments from work…
edit: a gamepad based controller using glovepie etc could also use my app to do the routing/translation/super-combo-ing but i’m pretty sure they can be fudged into the actual glovepie script - so no need for my app for that i reckon - just a modded glovepie script.
