MIDI Fighter Twister - Duplicate Encoder on each bank.
I’m trying to come up with a solution for creating a custom template. I’m also using Ableton 9.1
The bottom 8 encoders will be static no matter what bank (1-4) you step through. The top 8 will change with each bank.
I figured out how to change the MIDI Channel and CC numbers for each of the encoders for the bottom 8 so they are the same CC’s etc.
I’ll map the bottom left encoder in bank 1 to a paramater (like track volume). When I step through the banks, the encoder in the same position will control that parameter as expect.
The problem lies in trying to get the Twister to update the CC values for banks 2-4. According to the manual, the incoming MIDI mapping can’t be changed.
The only thing I thought of doing was getting a plugging that can reassign CC values on the fly. However, that requires setting up a MIDI channel and listening for the Twister and sending that data back out to the Twister on the hardcoded MIDI channels and CCs.
Is there a way to do this within the Twister or the utility itself? If not, it would be a welcomed feature. Being able to adjust a parameter like volume or EQ no matter which bank I’m in would be great. But without updating the LEDs, it’s pretty easy to mistake the value of parameter.
