Midi Fighter Utility 2.90 Released

A new version of the Midi Fighter Utility is now available! We focused this release on implementing some community feedback and fixing the connectivity issues that disabled online firmware updates in the past. Be aware that since 2.85 and previous releases can’t go online you won’t be notified via the app that an update is available. Future firmware and utility updates will work fine moving forward.

In order to use this software plug in your Midi Fighter directly to your computer via USB (DO NOT USE A USB HUB) and follow the onscreen instructions in the utility. You’ll be prompted to update your firmware as new firmware updates are available. If no new firmware updates are available you are good to go!

Download: macOS / Windows

Note: If you are having issues launching the utility for the first time? Try this, it is only required the first time you launch it.

midi fighter utility doesn’t work with macOS Tahoe.

Hey emre,

Are you seeing any specific errors? MFU does work on Tahoe on my end. If the app is crashing please share the log

Hi Padi, actually the utility installer “.dmg” file cannot open. I was just going edit/correct my message but you were quicker

Give this a shot https://techtools.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360033819331-Midi-Fighter-Utility-can-t-be-opened-on-macOS. this only needs to be done the first time you open it.

The issue is that while the installer is signed with a digital certificate it wasn’t notarized so macOS gets increasingly annoyed with it on newer OS.

We have a new version of the MFU that is currently in beta that solves this problem moving forward. Should be out in a few weeks

the problem is midi fighter utility is not installed on my computer so it’s not in my applications. I’m trying to install it but cannot open the “.dmg” file.. right click trick doesn’t work either

After you close the warning saying the dmg can’t be opened go to Settings>Privacy & Security. You’ll find it listed there along with a button to open it

Then click once again on Open Anyway

and finally enter your user password, you’ll see this window.

From there you can drag the app to the Applications folder and after opening it for the first time you’ll get to nag screen for it. Head back to Settings>Privacy & Security and you’ll find it in the same place. Click one final time on Open Anyway and the app will work normally.

We are aware of how much of a PITA this is atm and newer macOS versions turn it to 11 cause Apple pretty much forces every dev to get an Apple Developer ID to notarize the app so they mark it as safe and these go away.

wow thank you so much @padi_04 ! it’s working   (i’m still getting used to this new OS , what a roundabout ha!) :upside_down_face:

Yup, it ain’t pretty. Glad to hear you sorted it out.
