# Midi Fighter Utility crashing instantly

After upgrading my Midi Fighter Twister to the latest firmware, the Midi Fighter Utility crashes as soon as I plugin in the Twister.
The unit seems to work otherwise. I however need to change a couple of settings, which I can’t without being able to connect to the Utility.
I have tried on two different computers (no hubs) with the same result.
Would be very grateful for help here.

What version of the utility and OS are you running? Tried disconnecting other MIDI devices?

I am on MacOS Sequoia 15.7.3 and v 2.9 of the Utility.
No other MIDI devices connected.

Do you have configured a non-English macOS and what device name (for Twister) do you see inside your DAW → Preferences → MIDI input and output?

I had something similar happen once. A completely clean reinstall helped more than just installing over the existing version. I also made sure to remove any old settings/config files before reinstalling and ran the utility as administrator the first time. If it’s still crashing instantly, it’s worth checking if antivirus or Windows security is blocking it in the background. Hopefully that helps narrow it down.
