Midi messages for the kontrol F1?? HELP NEEDED
Hi,
I’d like to edit my cc note messages for my korg Nano controllers and Roland hardware to match the midi notes sent out by the kontrol F1.
i’ve tried looking online for a diagram or pdf already but can’t find out what notes the F1 sends out.
i’m hoping that if i can edit the notes to match the F1 i can hopefully get some use of the remix sets in traktor.
obviously this will be without the colour co-ordination but i’m not bothered about that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and obviously if i can get his to work i’d be happy to share my results with the wider community.
thanks

If you open controller editor you can see/change the midi values that are sent from the F1.
I don’t think he has an F1, but is trying to map his other controllers to the remix decks.
NI has locked the remix decks to the F1. This explains it pretty well.

There are a few hacks though.
The Midi Fighter 3d can control them
And there’s this one that takes your button pushes and translates them to mouse movements.

You can do the same sort of thing with and ipad app and Lemur.

he was right yes, i don’t have the F1, otherwise i’d be using it and wouldn’t need to post up questions here.
looks like this is going to be nigh on impossible unless someone out there can figure out what messages the F1 sends out via HID

Have you watched the video above that photojojo posted?
The guy has made a program to get it to work with any controller so should be perfect for you..

yeah, i’m aware of that, was kind of hoping that a program like midipipe would have been able to translate midi messages to HID, i know it doesn’t but something similar must be possible no?

I’ve been looking into it and hoping I can try and use something like http://www.musicunfolding.com/MU_MIDI_Controller.html or http://www.steim.org/steim/junxionLite.html so that I can at least use an old joypad or emulated mouse clicks with another midi controller
I just don’t have loads of time to mess about with it at the moment

I mean i’m guessing that if people have made programs to turn HID into midi, it can’t be too much to assume that the reverse is possible

It’s not just a case of getting the hid signals right though.
The F1 acts like a dongle - if it isn’t plugged in then sending those hid messages won’t work.
The only way I have seen it done is by programming an arduino to look like an F1 - I think I read it on here somewhere, but might have been one of the duino sites…
