I recently bought a smartpad. I thought great it has rgb pads at an affordable price. Problem is that these pads do not function correctly when set to midi out in traktor. It will light up but then turn off after you hit the button again. Turns out it was specifically designed for Ableton only. Any way to hack this thing into letting me assign the midi out to the lights?
I know. I have been searching everywhere to find out how to put it in generic mode, but have not found anything. I e-mailed the manufacturer but nada. Hopefully I can figure something out.
So I got in touch with the chinese manufacturer. They sent me a firmware update so I can use it in Generic mode. Shitty part was they sent me to emails. The first was the link to the update. I tried running the update and bricked the controller.
The second email stated the update could not be run from win7 or win8.
I commend this company. Hit em back up and within an hour got a script they wrote just for me to unblock the device. Then they gave me instructions on how to use VM to install it. Got it working with the new firmware, but am still unable to utilize midi output for the lighted pads. Lets see what theyre next response is.
