Mixing Rock songs

Hello Guys!
I mostly do gigs on student-parties and so i play a lot of different styles.
now, to do the transition from electro to rock, ean did a great video, but i wondered if there are some simple tricks or fancy techniques for mixing one rock song to another.
At the moment i simply drop in the next song after the end of first one, but i would like to improve myself in that matter!

loops, quick teases during the outgoing track and boom, full on into the new one

aka playing something (any song) and teasing the intro to back in black by ACDC (first rock song to come into my head) over the old track before you drop teh new one in.
