Modulations:Cinema for the Ear (1998)

So I’ve been on a massive 1990s dance music nostalgia tip lately, doing research on the era that first captured my attention and inspired me to be a producer/dj 10+ years ago. As I was looking through some old youtube videos of 90s djs and raves I stumbled upon this AWESOME FLICK, Modulations:Cinema for the Ear. There have been many documentaries about electronic dance music over the years but this one is bar none my favourite, I can’t believe I hadn’t seen it yet.

This is essential viewing for dance music enthusiasts!

it’s good to see mr. moog rep’d in the movie! couldn’t do that nowadays :disappointed:

you can grab the whole rip off a torrent site… the stuff towards the end about some of the early pioneers (Robert Moog, John Cage, Karlheinz Stockhausen) of heavily used EDM production techniques like sampling,field recording,cut/paste,and fx patch use etc. is really interesting.
well, the whole video is really interesting but that stuff stood out the most for me.
