Mp3 tags wont update/save Traktor Pro 2

Hi guys, lost a huge amount of files from my playlist folder. so i restored the folders from my windows computer back into my mac. All the songs was analyzed in mixed in key (Key placed in comment field). The problem now, is when i import the folders back into Traktor some of the files wont show the key in the comment field. This only happens some of the files. Some of them show up with the analyzed key-info in the comment area. so what i think there is a problem with the mp3 tags.

I´v also tried to manually go into the file in traktor in the edit window, and store the key, lets say “4A”. go out of the folder go back in. then the comment area is blank again…

I think i saw a similar problem here on the forum, but could not find it.

Redirect me to it, or a little help would be great=)

Cheers peeps!!

Are you working in the track collection or in the itunes node?

Not using itunes at all. Just folders and browser in traktor.

Are you sure the files you’re having issue with are mp3 and not wav?

jepp, says .mp3 in the folder. so i guess it is a mp3 then. hopefully:stuck_out_tongue:

Have you “reanalyzed” the tracks you’re having issue with? Traktor may need to relook at the metadata. WARNING-make sure your BPM is locked in tracktor if you’ve already set grids and cues as reanalyzing will overwrite the info if not locked.

Jepp, tried that to, first when i imported the files some of showed the original comment, instead of the key i implented into the field. But it only worked for sertain files. Is there any aplications out there, that “resets” or “fixes” the mp3 files, so it will work correct in traktor?

Some people have recommended Mixed in Key. I’ve never used it. I go the itunes route for organizing and import to Traktor with playlists. I have no problems other than any information that is written in Traktor to metadata ie BPM won’t show up in itunes until I play the track in itunes. Sorry I can’t be more help. I’ve always found it really annoying that there’s not an “industry standard” for metadata tags but that’s always been the case.
