Sup DJTT ! Happy new year to everyone hope you all had a great new years and hope you all killed it at your NYE parties.
i normally dont post but i felt i needed to, Alcohol and music are a bad combo. I learned that the hard way during my NYE party during one of my house sets, some drunk douche was arguing with me because he wanted to “play dj” and i refused to let him touch my stuff. The douche proceeded to pick my macbook up from its stand and smash it on the floor, (rip macbook btw) as you already know a huge fight broke out but at the end of the fight i was left with no make book and my vestax mixer was destroyed in the shuffle.
Please my fellow dj’s if at all possible when dj’n a house party try and becareful and dont let what happened to me happen to any of you.
Unfortunate what happened mate. Can you not get in contact with the guy for compensation?
This is the reason i do not have house parties. I would go mad if anybody even came behind my decks never mind touch anything! I go mad when people come behind the DJ box at my residency..
the sad part it that it was a “family” party, the plus side was that his wife showed up the next day with a new macbook and a new mixer but it was a situtation that didnt need to happen.
and one of the few things that i hace learned is that if you play music in houses, the best is build a bunker to play. make the space smaller, so in this way only you can fit. or block the way to the “booth” with some chairs or stuff.
well, this kind of lesson from DJing cannot be paid or gifted. must happend to learn. and more careful dude, because i know and i live worst thing than this.
it was pretty painful watching my macbook hit the ground but i def will never do another house party again, it just sux that it was at 1:30am and that just killed the night for everyone,
Glad you got your stuff replaced, but what a b*tch move to have your wife bring the stuff to you. You’re supposed to man up and apologize and make things right, not have your women do your dirty work
Damn, i almost had the same thing happen to me last night. I was doing a gig where there were two promoters checking me out and a group of black guys came up and asked for “Wobble” after i had told them i don’t have that song (this is in the middle of a house set btw). One of the guys reached across the booth and tried to stop the record that was playing but grabbed the wrong deck lol. this is when i told him to f*ck off and shoved him away from the booth, he swung at me and then the cop ran over and escorted him out. Im glad there was a cop there or else i could see my decks, mixer, macbook being smashed on the ground.
dude its like no one has respect anymore, back in the day u asked and hoped they played it now people just come behind ur booth and are disrespectful, luckily you didnt suffer the same fate i did but i know for now on im bringing a body guard to all my gigs
Why does no one have the respect to leave it alone when a dj does not have the song they want, especially when it’s a completely different genre? And why does everyone wanna “play dj” so badly? They’re just gonna make an ass of themselves.
