Must have iPad apps for DJ/Producers?

Must have iPad apps for DJ/Producers?

hey all , finally bit the bullet and got myself an ipad…

any suggestions for the best DJ/music related apps?

already grabbed traktor dj…

any good DAW stuff? how is the akai mpc app?

Beatmaker 2 is great. So is impc.

Impc is great if ur used to the workflow of an mpc. If not, it can b a bit tough. Still… Both apps are very cheap for what they feature.

soundprism

audiobus

animoog

arpegionome

yamaha arp & dr pad

samplr

konkreet performer

steppolyarp

dm1

beatsurfing

polyplayground

flail

thumbjam

chordmapmidi

Decent list there. Keep checking freeappfinder or similar apps to pick up stuff for free. I got the DM1 for nothing a couple of months back.

TouchOsc

Easy, quick, prefer it to touchosc

Regarding iPad Apps

I think IMPC is one of finest DJ/music related app for iPad as it provides numerous enhanced DJ features that you will definitely love.

Nanostudio!! DAW with a fast and very easy workflow.
ToucOSC for customized MIDI control.
Fun Run for taking a break from mixing and producing

All Korg APP are great!!!

Samplr is SUPER powerful stuff. Surprised there haven’t been more “routine” style vids featuring it. I’ve gone into iFile and copied/pasted all the audio files from iMpc and Launchpad into Samplr’s default library to give me a bunch of good sample content to twist up.

shocked no one has said lemur. ive not used it my self but it looks good

http://liine.net/en/products/lemur/

It is good but it’s only midi connective not standalone and its very costly yet has same features to touch Osc but much more ability

It’s way more powerful than TOSC, depends on your needs if the pricetag is justified or not.

TouchOSC w/ Live Control is really cool, if only they could implement a browser!

Anyone tried the DJ Player app w/ class compliant MIDI controllers? I wonder if iPad Traktor will support controllers in the future?

I use djay and Traktor DJ personally, didn’t really get on with DJ Player though it has a lot of potential.

Production apps:

  • Beatmaker 2
  • Grarageband
  • Animoog
  • Sunrizer
  • iKaossilator
  • Figure
  • Samplr

It’s really too bad that both the iMPC and traktor Dj are incompatible with audiobus :disappointed:

How did u do this?

I really wish I could find some ipad apps that were actually worth using for production

I really like touchable as an app and it is very well thought out, better than lemur for controlling ableton… However I just don’t find myself using it or any of the other ipad apps I’ve bought. I just don’t think touch screen interfaces and anything I’ve used are really that great in practice, which is a shame since I want them to be.
