While moving stuff today I came across this blast from the past (this probably won’t make the final cut for my setup):
nice setup man, i have the envy 15. does your envy 14 heat up insane like mine does? it sucks, whenever I do gigs (friends’ house parties and stuff) i always have to put a laptop fan under it because im afraid it might overheat and crash 
I did have problems with it overheating, but generally if I’m careful about making sure the fan isn’t blocked when its plugged in it isn’t a problem. If it doesn’t have good air flow though, yeah, it’ll heat up pretty good.

thanks. I was actually able to pick it up used from guitar center for $200. It didn’t come with any software but I already had traktor anyway.
How do you like the Technics RP-DH1200? I was thinking of picking up a pair. I currently have the Pioneer HDJ-500 which sounds good but I do not like how they sit on top of my ears.
I really like them. They’ve got nice big 50mm drivers and they’re comfortable as hell. They’re quite large and nicely padded, to the point that they’re almost more over the ear phones rather than on the ear. I’ve had them for a couple years now and have had absolutely no complaints.

cleaned up the dj setup with a powered usb hub and hooked up my old MC-303 to the ableton setup.
I’ve always wondered this, how do you DJ without any jogs or tempo faders? Do you stay at the same BPM most of the time and just hit sync to match evrything up?
I usually have sync on because of using a lot of Beatmasher, but you really don’t need the jogs when you have the touchstrips. Also, there is a tempo fader but its rotary.

How was it from gc used? im looking to get one used from there. Anything noticeably wrong with it? Sticky buttons/messed up faders exc..? Or was it in good shape?
I’ve had it for about 6 months now and haven’t noticed anything wrong with it. All the faders and knobs were like new.
Thanks for the quick reply! Thats awesome. The only reason I asked is cause I cant physically see it since its not available at a nearby store so Id be ordering it on a whim.
