My dirty little club secret

This may be a DJ nono but do you guys ever go somewhere and hear a song and think what is that? I must have it now! ? Well recently I have started going to clubs and whipping out my iPhone and using Shazam to try and tag the song that’s playing.

Thought id let my dirty little secret out. I feel so much better for letting it out now :smiley:

I feel so damn guilty now! It’s not as if I copy the whole set, just a single track or two if at all. All my mixes are my own though, no copying whole sets here :slight_smile:

I’m reading the burning bible now lol it’s all common sense. When I open for someone, no new hot tracks, give the main dj enough headroom on the pa etc. Glad I’m not doing everything wrong :wink:

Chances are that if Shazzam can identify the track its already a big tune.
You may as well just ask the guy next to you what it is.

I usually just ask the DJ if I really like what they’re playing. I’m always open about that kind of stuff. It’s more a compliment than anything else to whoever’s DJing.

My friend has used it and it really surprised me with some tracks. It’s pretty amazing!

i.e. Bangkok by Boris Dlugosch BEFORE it was popular.

Yeah shazam works most of the time even with remixes, if not I hit up the DJ.

Tis a shiny toy, yeah. It’s good if you go out and get battered, you’ve got a list of all the good tracks on your phone rather than on random bits of paper …
