my first stab at a track in ableton

my first stab at a track in ableton

hey guys, im just gettin back into production after 56 years away from it. I used to use acid 4.0 and SoundForge 7.0 but i just made the switch to Ableton which I’m lovin. I just finishe the Dubspot 30/30 course and this is track I posted for the re-mix contest. It isnt much and gettin some solid time to work on it when you have 3 kids running around the house, but I’d like some honest opinions on what I’ve done. I’ve only scratched the surface of ableton so far and really just used the stems and sum loops i had as well as some minor effects. let me know what you think and follow me on soundcloud if you like so y’all can judge my progress as i’m hopin to post alot more in the future. thanks and i hope you enjoy.

sorry for the link as i dont know how to load the player here sorry :rage:

Do anyone have any ideas on this please?

for a first song not bad

feels a tad empty on the drum side and sense its so “chill” it feels like it needs something like vocals

i kinda go the same feeling but i was a lil scared to get crazy with effects or dropping a groove template on it… like i said im new to ableton and this was my first real shot at a full track after only messing with the software for 2 weeks… ive since learned a a few more lil tid bits and im trying to get away from loops… but thanks for your feedback mate !
