My first tutorial / tips video - feedback please

Hey DJTT,

This is my first tips video and I would like your feedback!
I really enjoy editing video and making turorials, so please tell me if this is any good and what I could improve. Thanks a lot!

Clouse

personally i prefer tutorials that have speech in them, grab a mic and over dub it.
but you technique and camera work is very good.

Thanks Quggers!
I’m kind of shy of using a microphone because I think my english sounds stupid. But as soon as I get over that, I’ll do some tutorials with speech.

cant be that bad, if i can do it then anyone can, even with my potato picking irish accent.

Hehe
C’mon people, please give me some more feedback!

great trick keep on going
be sure to use it didnt know that one

if u feel your not confident enough in english may be u can write some details comments on it
otherwise its great nothing bad to say

Great video and nice tip… will try it out myself

How do you avoid the volume spike when cloning the deck?

pull the volume fader down before hand?

No that’s way to easy. I need to spend an hour jacking with modifiers for it to work. Or at the very least hold the shift button while pressing a button and turning a knob.

Lolol!

@ MiL0, jd62: Thanks guys!

@ photojojo: You can’t see it in the video but I had the crossfader on my DDM 4000 all the way to the left. Hope that answers your question  Mixing externally btw.

What you can see however is the lack of knobs on the virtual channel faders. Shame to anyone who didn’t notice this is externally mixed :stuck_out_tongue:

I think i’m going to start using this trick. Very nice video, simple and to the point.

Kudos on the video. Besides leaving out how you dealt with the volume/crossfader, it’s spot on.

Thanks for the feedback!

I really enjoyed making this, so it’s great for me to see this kind of appreciation from a communtiy I respect

One way you might be able to improve is to do the procedure one time through, then go back pausing the video and putting bullet points up in text on the video. Then run through the procedure again. That way you show them what your going to do, then show them how to do it, then reinforce the lesson by showing them again.

Aah, I spotted the DDMin the background. Can hardly see you flicking the fader, but there aren’t that many camera angles that look fancy where all your kit would be in view.
Moar!

Good Point! I’ll try to incorporate that.

If you have a couple more tricks like this you probably could submit them to Ean and get paid for the article.
