Ldp8 Ultimate contrellerist mapping
Here’s the final mapping I’ll make for my ldp8.
Sadly, I have not mapped so much Led I wanted with it causes my traktor freezes or having sound glitches. So if you have a better setup than mine I can explain you how I make the leds work so you can add more led output.
The main features of this mapping are*:
-2 decks
- 2 samples decks
- loop recorder control
- instant gratification+deckalized mapping
Knobs : They are the same for the four bank (easier to control in da mix)
K1-K4*: Filter + Three band Equalizer DeckA
__K5-K8:__ Filter + Three band Equalizer Deck*B
Program 1 : Play Mode + Transport mode
Pad Mode*:
Pad 5*: Load+Loop+Play Deck A + Select mixer layout
Pad 1*: Load+Loop+Play Deck B + Select mixer layout
Pad 6*: next track + select browser layout
Pad 7*: previous track + select browser layout
Pad 2*: page up + select browser layout
Pad 3*: page down+ select browser layout
Pad 8*: switch layout
Pad 4*: Add as next to preparation list (as I plan to use this tiny beast for casual mixing in friend’s flat or for preparing playlist)
CC Mode*:
Pad 5*: Play/pause deck A
Pad 1*: Play/pause deck B
Pad 6*: Loop Set Deck A
Pad 2*: Loop Set Deck B
Pad 7/8*: Decrease/Increase Loop Size Deck A
Pad3/4: Decrease/Increase Loop Size Deck B
Program 2*: Flashflood deckalized+instant gratification focused mapping.
In my (very own) opinion, this is the best midifighter mapping to be port on a non-four banked button machine.
Pad mode*:
the two top rows of a midifighter
CC mode*:
the two bottom rows of a midifighter
I won’t explain again the way the deckalized+instant gartification mapping works because I assume a lot of people knows it. Nevertheless, you can check the way it works there.
Moreover, you can use the shifted function of the two bottom rows by pressing shift button (and holding it), then CC mode button (and not releasing pad 5), and finaly the button you want to shift (and still not releasing pad 5).
Sadly you can’t use the 8 loop button (mapped on pad 5 in CC mode), but the sadest is that the fx secret combos don’t work (they use the secret midi note). But you have some killer features(sampler mode, instant fx, crazy beatmasher), usable on the four decks in a focus mode.
Program 3*: Loop Recorder+modifiers+sample decks
Pad mode*: Loop Recorder+Modifier
Pad 5/1*: Dry/wet (M1 activated : knob turns faster)
Pad 6*: Loop size
Pad 2*: Record loop
Pad 3*: Loop play/pause
Pad 7*: Delete loop
Pad 4*: Modifier 1
Pad 8*: Modifier 2
CC Mode*: Sample Decks
Top pads are deck C sample deck
Bottom pads are deck D sample deck
Each button has 5 command linked to slot state and modifiers status*:
Empty slot + M1 = 0*: load from deck
Empty slot + M1= 1*: copy from loop recorder
Slot loaded*+ M1=0 + M2=1*: Start/stop slot
Playing slot*: Mute/unmute slot
M1=1+M2=1*: Clear slot
Program 4*: volume control*:
Pad Mode + M2=1*: Decks volume faders
Pads 1/5*: Deck C
Pads 2/6*: Deck A
Pads 3/7*: Deck B
Pads 4/8*: Deck D
M2=0 + CC Mode/M2 =0 + Pad Mode*: Sample slot volume control.
Et voilà…
things to come :
- more leds output (perhaps…)
- M1=1 faster knob and fader moving will be implemanted in program 4.
I don’t know if something more can be added and I think it’s the more you’ll find on a ldp8 without making the mapping unusable.
Please give feedback and bugreport…

Pierre
