I wasnt taxed anything on my Traktor, but was taxed £20 on maschine o.O which is kinda reasonable as theyre handling a £400 product, suppose its just luck
yeah i guess and i didnt have any luck haha…ah well roll on monday when they finally get here and i can transform my vci into a SE with some cool knobs n faders ![]()
Dude Im from the UK it was very much a tongue in cheek comment, although it is true that most of the stuff I need/want cant be bought in the UK.
do you know how much time it takes to come to europe? I’m in france, it has been sent from djtt on decembre (the 6), hope it wont be stuck at the customs (which means money + time!!!) Hope i’ll get it till the end of the next week but maybe i’m a little bit too huried!
£20 for traktor, and £20 for knobs and overlay… isn’t it a problem at uk’s customs
?
i ordered the overlay standard delivery it took 3 weeks did not have to pay any tax on it but is was only to the value of 20 dollars
looks like ive been stitched up then, as my order was only a few dollars more than that
pissedoff.com lol
Well than i totally apologise mate. When you mentioned America a presumed you were American. My bad for jumping to conclusions.
The internet and fiery tempers eh…
Sorry dude.
LoLz… You can double post it in the “I iz drunk” thread, bro’! ![]()
hmmm, just reading this forum makes me cringe… i sold a vci100 a while back, but i missed it too much so i just reordered a VCI arcade for DJTT.
I’ts been in customs here in belgium for well over a week now, and its starting to piss me off, knowing that my item is less than an hours drive away, but i cant get it yet… f*ckin lazy customs pricks. I dont wanna call the customs office tho and sound all pissed off like “RAARR WHERES MY PACKAGE!!!” coz then theyll be like, “ok, 200 euros tax please…” and i probably still wont get it for another week after that. The guy from DJTT said he declared it at a lower value to help me save some taxes, but im still hurting just thinking about how much it could be… apparently its anywhere up to 20% of the original items value!
20% !!! At full price thats like another 120 euro’s at least, on top of what ive allready paid for it! i just hope the DJTT guy declared it as being worth like… 150 euro’s… haha, that would be nice… or it would be nice if they just got rid of the whole bullshit customs tax thing altogether… fuckin scammers
What DJTT’s needs to do, is have a $5-$10 option that they will “gift wrap” your package for you, like a present.
Just pay the extra cost of another box to go around the outside, the cost for “gift wrapping” and some time. I’m pretty sure it would come out to be less than customs.
I have a strange feeling that this would go around many of these issues.
As much as I’d love to live somewhere else, I guess there are some benefits to living in the ole USA.
that sounds like a good idea cos that would stop us gettin robbed by customs, and royal mail/parcel force. As i paid i think $20 postage to djtt and now parcel force it seems have charged me postage costs for opening and repacking my parcel cos i worked out that even 20% tax on my order at full cost would have been £4 ish, so where the othe £14.50 came from i do not know?? And like mentioned DJTT say they will lower the value of the parcel to help with costs too..
Ha no worries man I would of done the same. I play an american sport so have to buy gear from the US often and always get raped by customs ![]()
I’ve posted this before but if you get the seller to write warranty replacement on the customs slip you pay no tax at all.
Ask the seller, some will, some won’t - I got a set of CDJ800’s dirt cheap this way.
DJTT wont do that, although they said they would mark the value price down so the tax cost would be less but ive just got my order this morning and they HAVEN’T done that on my order, the prices they have declared on the package is the full retail price, on the customs note on the package, it says VAT £10.50 and then under the OTHER is says PARCELFORCE HANDLING FEE £8.00, cheeky fuckers is all i can say!! Ah well ive got it now so thats my job for tonight ![]()
crisis over, time for the fun part
If it’s labelled as a gift make sure they put a low value on it though as they will still tax you on gifts above a certain value. I paid more than the comparable sales tax on a gift as it was shown to be over £70.00
show up with a torn shirt, dirty socks… limp a little bit.. make them feel sorry for you, and mabey they will let it slide… when you see the box.. act a bit like some scene out of a christmas miracle where little timmy gets new crutches.
German customs was also holding everything that got shipped from the states… I always made it seem like I was semi homeless looking and never paid taxes on anything. Well in the begining I had to on several items.
for people in the EU, your better off ordering from djsface for knobs and faders.. plus they have 54 colors to choose from instead of 3
