My rotary Xone 4D.

My rotary Xone 4D.

Finally finished it! I am one happy twister!

Sick!

No offense, but what the hell have you done to that beautiful xone? That is now one ugly mixer  Also lack of crossfader is a bit… Interesting. Any reason you didn’t drop the rotaries in line like a zone 92 rotary? Trying to make it reversible?

i can appreciate it from the diy point of view but… why?

Pretty neat

Would you consider a newborn child beautiful? I wouldn’t, but this is my newborn baby.

I never use the crossfader. Never ever.

Yes, by doing it this way it’s a reversible mod. I also didn’t have to create a new faceplate for large sums of money.

zestoi - I prefer rotary potentiometers over linear potentiometers.

Fair enough. And if it works for you, more power to you!

Great stuff. Love it when you think outside the box. And im sure it will look great when you paint it.

quite literally outside the box in this case

Thanks guys haha! I’ll for sure end up getting a 92 rotary in the future at some point (not as a replacement, more like a supplement) anyways, but definitely took some time to figure out how to do it, both practically and electrically!

Ok. But u should try bigger knobs. (Think volume knob on old stereos). That’s what they use on the 92 rotaries.

Frankly I prefer faders cos u can read em faster and u can move more than one at a time, but differnt strokes, so enjoy

Fixed…

and I also agree that a nice coat of paint and some chunky knobs would be a great addition.

that’s…

special.

You ruined it!!! Why?!
