So i finally got my order today after customs had it for a few days (and ripped me off with there charges & parcelforce charges) so anyways, ive just stuck my overlay on and my new yellow knob & fader kit and im well happy with how it looks now its almost on perfectly, just a tad off in the bottom left corner but im happy with it lol… i think the overlay and the knobs and faders have turned it into a cool looking controller now here’s a few pics of it hope y’al like it
how easy/difficult is putting the overlay on. I’ve got one for xmas (silver plain one as use my own mapping) and just worried I’m going to muff it up and make my VCI look a right hash!
I looked for black jogs for my other vci that had the overlay.
Couldn’t find any at all. I toyed with the idea of spraying them but… I kinda like the silver jogs now.
hi mate, i found it an easy job to do, although its a very tiny bit off on the left side as it must have moved ever so slightly when i stuck it down lol, but its not that noticable i know cos i did it but u can tell around the fx preset buttons on the top left but im happy with it, makes it more useable now i know what the buttons actually do with the 3.6.4 djtt map, looks so much nicer than it did anyway and the yellow knobs & faders look well cool in my opinion ::
There’s a great tutorial video on y o u t u b e showing you how to do it, when u get your overlay you will get a letter in with it or i did anyway and that has the link on it to the tutorial just watch that 1st then you will be fine
Hi mate, i didnt do the firmware, i bought the vci off Karlos Santos on here and he had already had updated the firmware on it, i have the kit tho for any future updates so i can do it, im kinda glad he had already done it its something i think id be a little worried about doing myself lol
Yeah that’s the only thing holding me back as I’m not that technical to be fair and the fact that I only have a Mac and you need a windows laptop/ pc to do it I believe? I really want the increase sensitivity as well!!!
ive never used one with out the firmware as this is my 1st one, but i have to say im well impressed with the way the vci works, i come from a cdj back ground and im well happy with how the vci performs, one thing i have done tho is turn down the the sensativity of the pitch shift on the jog wheel in the traktor settings from 150% down to about 60 and i find thats suits me better as i found when u spun the outer jog wheel to slow down or quicken the track up it affected the pitch too much it acts more like a cdj now for me.
Personally i think if you are going to go to the effort of doing it all then it is worth going the extra mile and adding the arcade buttons.
I’m not going to lie it was a mission, but so worth it… You get that extra buzz of the satisfaction too.
Yeah id love to do the arcade mod, think its looks cool how it works just scary the thought of choppin wires and cuttin the plate, then id have to order an arcade style overlay too lol and i only just got this one
I’ve got the overlay and some nice new knobs ordered for xmas, so looking forward to pimping my VCI on boxing day. I’m really looking for something to go on the job wheels to, not sure what, but something to jazz it up a bit but not too tacky!

from what ive heard you have to be careful with what you do to the jog wheels ive heard you have to use conductive paint so they work when u touch them, theres a place on the internet called djface or something that can make you personalised stickers for them but they are quite expensive in my opinion and the postage is ridiculous lol
