Need some help deciding on what to upgrade to

Hey guys ,
Longtime reader first time poster im looking to buy some new gear or going to start looking at buying some new gear iv’e currently got a macbook 13" one of the first aluminium traktor ones which works a treat running traktor pro and iv’e also got a digital jockey 2 IE and an old casio keyboard that does midi which i use for a lot of things  long story short i was looking at what to get next! i was looking at CDJ’s but the prices would probably mean i wouldn’t be eating for a month or two, The scratch pro cross-grade and two stanton turntables off of eBay or the trading post seemed like a good alternative to me so i am asking you your personal opinion or thoughts on my situation, Any input would be greatly appreciated in any form  thanks for all the help you’ve given me over the past couple of months.

are you looking to go dvs or stay full midi? from the sounds of it, it’s dvs you’re leaning toward.
imho cdj dvs is pointless, might aswell just use cds in them as it boils down to same thing, however; they have pretty much taken over now and you’re more likely to find clubs with just cdj instead of just tt.
tt mixing is slowly becoming a dieing art, or at the least will become very specialist, and you’ll find yourself having to lug them with you from time to time. the only real reason i can see for tt dvs now is if you were a scratch/battle dj

however, with cd if you have a crash for whatever reason you have a back up then, just mix normally on the cds - which again imo makes more sense than dvs cd as you don’t gain any more functions, just a virtual record box. i just honestlt don’t see the point, lol

i’d honestly look at staying full midi (just my thought). look at what you’re using now, how you’re using and consider what you’re limited by atm, and what kit you can add, or swap to to push in the direction you want to go.
i assume you’re after dvs to scratch with to at some point? you could get a vci 100/300 and get a similar result, for less of the cost. and keep it along side current gear for 4 deck control, if you wanted? or to keep the ‘look’ of something traditional get an eks xp5 (or 2)
the cons you run into here, though, would be space related so don’t over do it on kit if you go this route. keep it simple and as small as possible. if you can.

as i tend to say in alot of these threads, it’s about how you want to work. don’t just go getting dvs/cdjs because everyone else is. unless it has a specific benefit to what you want to do.
i.e lots of scratching etc, tt dvs, little bit of scratch now and again, vci or similar. 4 decks mash-ups/live remixing/cue juggles stay on the midi road

Thankyou forthat response  I understand were your coming from and I’m rethinking my previous well thoughts, staying full midi interested me at first but I think teres a sort of sense of well “accomplishment” I suppose you could say standing infront of some cdj’s, the thought of combinding the midi controller side of things and well i’de say traditional but I guess it’s just club standard mixing ie; cdjs, mixer. Interests me i think I’ll save my pennys and get traktor scratch pro and some cdjs and maybe a second hand djm800 once the 2000 comes out, i’ve thought about getting a vci but it was 200 more than my current controller and ide probobly feel like an idiot not getting it instead of the reloop if I got it but I love my reloop  thanks for your thoughts on this.
