nero vs knife party
so, the promoter of melt festival was incompetent enough to put nero and knife party at the same time. i’ve seen neither of 'em live, so to anyone who did: who threw the better show? from my experience you can’t really judge by releases.
i am really digging neros older stuff (say innocence <3) so i’m tending towards nero, but maybe they’re crap djs?

I’ve seen Nero live 3 or 4 times, always a good time, never seen knife party though so cant be a true judge, pointless input complete! 
I love them both and haven’t seen either lol but I know KP has some SICKKKK laser tech…I <3 lasers
Eh, maybe nero a few years ago when they ACTUALLY made dubstep, but they’re album was complete shit aside from a couple tunes and they pretty much make straight pop now.
Knife Party is way better, and I keep hearing Nero is shit live.
tbh - it might not be incompetence, but good planning. If the site can’t cope with 80% of the crowd in one place, then split them, by putting on two similar(ish) acts in two places at the same time

Nero at I love techno 2011, there was a room rated for 7000 people and it was packed, 15 minutes into his set and breathing become more difficult. CO2 fucking everywhere. And don’t even think about freedom of movement, where the crowd went, you went whether you liked it or not.
I did enjoy Nero, but the set didn’t have a dubstep feel at all, too much high pitched stuff going on. It was fun when Promises dropped and all that but I didn’t feel as I was taken on a musical journey as Skream made me feel. (Man can that guy DJ!)
Knife Party fucking sucked we left after 20 minutes to get water, it wasn’t worth standing in that heat for a shit set. Again high pitched stuff going on and almost all the steps were of the bro variety but that didn’t make us leave, no… They sometimes either failed at beatmatching or more likely they didn’t even bother, that 's just a shame.
Also the tracks were raped by the effects and 1/200+ loops.
Just my view and experiences on this.
Knife Party are members of pendulum right? So they’ve been putting on killer shows for years, i think theres a higher energy to knife party so I would see them.

dubstep und uk edm acts in general are very small in germany still, i’d figure that the majority of the festival crowd doesn’t know either act. i figure they just really dont care. might be wrong though.
neros last album was in fact garbage (the remixes turned it around though). gotta check out that 60 minutes set. thanks so much people!
any other acts that i need to be checking out (except benga und flux of course!)? dont know most of em!

My advice? miss both and go see Dave Clarke. Modeselektor are playing at the same time also, they’d be quality also!
