There’s no link to a thread for Neurofunk in the recommend music sticky thing. So, I’ll start it off:

basically its a ‘history of’ and long storry short it went

dnb > darker > darker > DARKER [note that this was posted in 2005 and its changed since then]
not video game > dnb > neuro funk

come to think of it, the ONLY game ive ever heard this in would be a racing game, and thats not even on any of the games’ ‘main’ playlist.

wow - I haven’t heard the term “darkstep” since the late 90’s… don’t think it’s really around anymore… most people call it techstep/neuro these days don’t they?

There’s more variation out there, techstep and neuro are just what’s currently popular. As soon as I work out how exactly to DJ core n bass without resorting to loads of cuts I’m determined to go out an educate people of gabber kicks and amen breaks :stuck_out_tongue:

To keep it going, anything by Phace is pure gold. Pretty much any of the Neosignal releases.

haha - yeah… I guess I had a knack for sniffing out talent before they blew up… I’ve worked with people like Noisia, Prolix, Sunchase, Robot Death Squad (aka Hybris), Desimal, etc - quite a few of them before they got big.

it’s just a shame I’ve totally gone off dnb these days :disappointed:

Been properly into dnb since around 1995… just over half my life! It just doesn’t excite me like it used to… also I feel too old to be going to dnb raves lol

more into progressive breaks/house etc now :slight_smile:
