New Denon Controller

New Denon Controller

http://blog.htfr.com/2011/11/09/new-denon-usb-dj-controller-first-look/

Coming December..

They officially announced it a couple days ago, its the DN-MC3000 and is basically the MC6000s little brother probably aimed at competing with the Kontrol S2

Anyone know what the price point will be?

oh look, another downsized controller…

looks pretty underwhelming

well you never know, maybe they did something with the extra room by only having 2 faders…but having 4 decks and having to share faders like that kinda sucks IMO

Well for 1 they fixed placement of the pitch faders so now they’re on opposite ends of the controller.
Tempted to wait for this one but the S2 also is nice. But if they also have this as a normal mixer then it’s hard to pass up

We can also quash some speculation that it is a 2-channel controller. As you can see, it may have a ‘2-fader’ design, but it offers up to 4 deck playback. It also has dedicated filters on each channel. Not to mention the traditional Denon, premium quality build, metal chassis…and 2 year manufacturer’s warranty.

Already one up on the S2 for me.

Having recently bought my first piece of Denon equipment I couldn’t agree more. Although Denon may not look the business in photos, go and place your hands on it and see how you feel about the build of the S2 afterwards…

For the record I’ve owned Pioneer, Technics, Vestax, A&H etc.

The first thing which turns me off on the denon is the weight.

But this isn’t an issue for everyone, and I understand it is because its built of metal.

The other thing is no NHL protocol for the jog wheels. But this can’t be helped either.

Metal is better than plastic for a gigging controller.

True, but it looks like it would dent VERY easily unlike say, a VCI 100.

If it’s anything like the 6000 it’ll be as rugged as a 100. I was very impressed with the build quality of the 6000 when I had a look at my mates.

I really liked the 6000 until I got a Xone DX, then I realized how small the buttons on the 6000 are and how close together they are and I don’t have giants fingers or anything but it seems a little smushed together. The track load buttons are in the middle and you have to make sure you don’t hit anything else, just a little weird. Don’t get me wrong, its a great controller, one of the best out there, real solid and I am sure they built it so compact for portability but a little toooo compact for me.

Nothing should dent if its in a case and you don’t throw it around .

This is the single most annoying thing for me about the controller market.

Still having to use midi. Traktor need to sort that shit out… and not just hog it for their own controllers.

I know it’s a USP but damn man, it’s too stingy and may turn people towards ITCH

Spread NHL love

PS liek the look of that controller and as someone who has no interest in 4 decks I am glad that’s being addressed
