New dj setup help!

My employer blessed me with a “free” setup, I’m experienced at mixing but never in my life have I set up anything in my life, I’ve gone Into their studio and made the mix for the stores they own.

Anyways! Here’s my dilemma, I’ve got everything except the cables…

Here’s what I have ..

Pioneer CDJ1000mk3
RANE TTM57SL
Rokit 8 powered studio monitor
2014 MacBook Pro w/ Yosemite

Here are my totally newb questions

  • are there more preferred RCA cables to run with this?
  • can I successfully run serato with this setup? Do I need to boot my OSX into 32bit mode to successfully run serato?
  • what version (download) of serato would work best ? Can I used the latest serato download?
  • since the speaker is a “powered” speaker do I need an amp?

I’ve googled some of these questions and just come up with blind results or message boards where people just begin debating and no answer is actually given

I would use XLR cables for the Rokit’s. They are powered speakers and do not require an amp.
