**New DJ** Yoo, I need some help… Im a media student, and am good with the camera, But my real passion is music.. House music is in my soul, therefore i need to learn how to dj. I have used very basic programs like virtualdj and have mastered it, i have no clue where to go now, What program should i be using? traktor? what controller should i get? whats good for little money? instead should i get some cd decks? if so what should i get? Any help would be greatly appreciated, Safee.🕶 ---

Get a set of CDJs and a mixer. Burn CDs, learn to beatmatch, and get really, really comfortable with them. This will give you a really solid feel for mixing by ear and not by sight. Then you’re free to get Serato/Traktor later on. ---

No one can tell you what kind of controller to get. Search, read, search, read. I started my search many many months ago on [Amazon.com](http://Amazon.com) looking at a ton of them.. narrowed my list by “looks” and then narrowed it further by reading up on them. It’ll depend on your budget more than anything. Search, read, search, read. ---

It’s not the “best way”. Hell, with a VCI-100 (or any two deck controller… or any controller at that) and Traktor you can learn to beatmatch by ear, just takes some discipline, is all. If I could have saved all the money I spent on turntables and mixers and decks… I’d have a lot more MIDI gear ---

You may love music but you may also get bored of DJing and end up with very expensive paper weights lying around. ---

I started out with a X-Session Pro and Traktor v1. Over the years I outgrew the X-Session and moved on to a more expensive setup. Start cheap and work your way up - spending 1 thousand dollars on something that you are just getting into seems like a way to waste money if you don’t ultimately stick with your new hobby for a long period of time. ---

Get two CDJ 2000’s, a DJM 900, an all flash website with cool city noises and a background beat, tight black tees, and a wicked hair style. Then just sit back and collect the gigs, girls, and fame. ---
