Doesn’t look a major improvement from any of the last hercules controllers.
Gotta love that “DJ specialist” by the way. “Look, you can even kill the bass here”

yeah looks like its the replacement for the steel and the 4-mx is the replacement for the rmx.

but hey, for kids getting into it, its better than the rmx for a first controller.

Definitely lowers the bar for decent looking controllers indeed, which is never bad!

meh

You really think so?

Looks like all they’ve done is replace the Source buttons with Deck C/D buttons, change the layout (For the worse IMO, looks cramped around EQs) and add some better jogs. I do like the LED colours though.

Apart from the jogs (which i rarely use anyway) i wouldn’t take this over an RMX.

How much is this expected to cost?

Edit: Should cost $250 or £160, not bad for the price i guess.

i don’t think …cuz this controler has built in soundcard too…

I think it’s more like a downgrade of the actual 4-mx…with less controls and no metal chasi…
so probably less expensive

I’d like to know more about the Ecler controller than the Hercules one?

any info on that one.

I don’t know man. Hercules controllers have always been better than their reputation (despite the first few ones being fugly and cheap looking) and I’m sure this one will do a good job for its price level either, but for now I won’t replace my STEEL with any of the new models.

According to a hercules rep over on the djmixroom forums this product is targetted to the consumer market, hence why they released it at ces rather than namm.

ok fair enough, ill buy that answer. =)

gahhhhh i hate when they go “well this does this”

its such a gimmick as not to drive away people who ‘arnt good with computers’ or dont ‘know how to program’. even though thats not what it is at all

saying that “this is mapped to do this, oh and by the way, everything you see hear can easily be mapped to do whatever you want within most dj softwares” is harder to say, but so much better.

kind of OT but…

Wait…what is the point of this controller again?

i still rather get the soundcard version of this aka the 4mx

This one’s got a soundcard, but still def a beginner rig.

MMhhhh, id rather have my Rmx then this new one. It looks a bit to easy and cheap. No dedicated kill switches and cetera. I assume they are just trying to reach another market with this one.

by a soundcard i mean like one that would let you connect a dvs.

this is to 4mx what steel is to the rmx, catch my drift>

i dont get all these company’s who make these controllers and how they screw them up
KILL BUTTONS!

anyways dont look very good

I bought one of these and really I am more than satisfied, their jogsweels are excellent, the sound surprised me, was higher than the M-Audio Fasttrack Pro I have. It’s plastic, yes, but very well built, besides I’m not dropping to the ground. Work fine with Traktor Pro 2. In the Hercules site support is now available to a driver update also updates the internal firmware. For those who do not live in the First World is an excellent choice.

My very first controller was an Hércules e2 don remember the ither ñame but was indeed a very BASIC controller still i learn a lot with him without even an audio interface
So its a big deal the soundcard its like fresh cool News to me jajaja

Not the best brand but they make good BASIC controllers
