So i played a pizza joint last week and i snatched up one of these, i asked and they said it was cool. All i did was wrap a little electrical tape, part of my survival toolkit, around the metal for some grip. It worked great all night.
I’ll have some pic’s of mine up soon, with my new live setup.
dude, I’m actually in the process of getting a job at a pizza place/lounge. Its really nice inside, and a great hangout place. I might talk to the owners about DJing there some nights, because they hvae plenty of floorspace, great lighting, and a good atmosphere.
Restaurants are the best place to look for gigs. Not many other DJ’s try to approach them, consistent work, don’t need to worry about promoting and packing the place, free food and drinks and you’re usually finished and out of there by midnight ready to party like a rockstar.
This place is called the Bourbon House, so it’s pretty much a bar. But they have great pizza. The night goes from 10-2, but its simple. I play what people want to hear, i can get fancy on the controllers later in the night. And, like you said, free food and drinks; and the pay is not that bad. Plus, a free laptop stand.
I’ll take any gig though, just as long as it keeps me away from a 9-5.
