Yeah I came across this while trying to figure out how to make a DIY APC40 (i.e. a 64 button Ableton controller with faders etc…) The cost is reportedly about $699 US… $300 more than the APC40…
On a side note, I was looking to incorporate the UMC32 MIDI USB chip offered by Hale Micro in a DIY project, but it only supports up to 32 inputs… at $75 dollars a pop, I’d probably have to use at least 3 of them making it cost ineffective to compete with simply buying the APC40…
Has anyone used MidiBox? I’m not afraid of programming chips… but I’m not to keen on electronic components which is why the prebuilt UMC32 was attractive…
Anyway, the Ohm64 is pretty nice with the wood finish… I feel like I’d have to drink wine instead of beer while using it…
