I’m in the market for a new 4 channel mixer and since my budget isn’t very much (400-500 tops, barring any work bonuses/xmas gifts I don’t yet know about) which means I’m looking at mixers like the Behringer DJX900 or NOX606 (any idea on a release date?) or the Denon DN-X1100. Anyone have any experience with these or any other recommendations?
Dollars. It seems that the entire NOX line except for the 606 is released in the US. I’ve heard mixed reviews for the DDM and I’m hesitant to buy anything from Behringer even though they are the best mixers in my price range.
Only thing most people on here will gripe about the DDM is the headphone jack placement and the low quality feel of knobs and faders,
other than that its a tank.
@NOX 606, strange, theres a behringer speciallist on here, i think its nem0nic?
I did awhile ago when it was supposed to be released and that was in march I believe. He said something about 2nd quarter 2011. That has obviously passed.
Behringer is not the best mixer in any price range, as far as i’m concerned.
Idea 1: Vestax. Anything in that price range is better than anything Behringer makes.
Idea 2: I have a (painted) blue UK-made xone:62 that I’m willing to part with for about that price range. PM me if you’re interested.
The funny thing is that when I bought the xone, I was actually shopping for a vestax and couldn’t find one…I still haven’t gotten a straight answer as to whether the 004 and 280 were actually discontinued or if the places I checked just didn’t stock them because people don’t upgrade Vestaxes as often as crappier mixers.
Disclaimer: I’m a Vestax fanboy. If I manage to sell my xone, I’ll be shopping for a Vestax again.
I’d love to see a pic of that. I won’t be buying anything till after christmas or the new year but if you still have it and it looks good, I’ll definitely pm you about it.
@Ashigari, those prices are high for what I’m used to. Like…really high. Here the 280 pro would sell for about 400CHF if it were a straight conversion.
The only downside is that the guy who owned it before me painted it, so there are no markings on any of the controls…it took about an hour of spinning with it to just know how everything works and stop thinking about it. And, it could use a good cleaning just because everything’s analog, but I’d have that done before I sent it out anyway.
