From Joystiq:
Mortal Kombat and techno music have enjoyed a long history together. Now you can preview the next step in their relationship, as the entire soundtrack to the upcoming Mortal Kombat reboot has been made available through AOL Radio streaming.
The album was executive produced by JFK of MSTRKRFT and features 12 tracks based on the game’s fighters. See if you can FINISH IT in one sitting.
I know I’m talking about the movie, but they should have broken the bank to get an update on halcyon+on+on. That’s about the only thing I remember from the movie and It still kills it.
haha man i used to be so obsessed with this game back in the day.
i had the first three mortal kombat albums on cassette. the one by the immortals and the two movie soundtracks.
pretty cool to see another one of these… but the only tune i really like is the baraka’s theme by run dmt, the rest of it is kind of meh.
word i heard about that.
i hope the series is a bit more true to mortal kombat than this bit of fan-fiction. they’ve taken a lot of liberties with the characters and storyline in that short, it’s barely recognizable.
there was also a major motion picture in the works slated for a 2013 release. according to IMDB; Warner Bros. looking to reboot franchise, but Threshold Entertainment filed new breach of contract lawsuit to prevent it from moving forward. Updated: 1 April 2011 . i’m sure it’s still going to happen, but who knows when that will be.
