New Original Moombahton Collab From 2 DJTT Members

New Original Moombahton Collab From 2 DJTT Members

My friend with whom I attend college with in upstate NY started working on this collab abouuut a month ago. Its a Moombahton/Jump-Up type track. Finished it up a few days ago, and finally got our logo in check, it’s called ‘Bounty’ and its for free download. Check it out, if you like it - follow us & share it. We’re not going to be putting out exclusively moombah, our first track just happens to be - we plan to experiment with ALL of our favorite genres.

As always any constructive criticism is encouraged [that’s kinda why it’s here]

Thanks in advance,

I like it man! The only thing that I would suggest, (and it’s just my personal preference) is to make a larger difference between the main chorus and the rest of the song. A good example is “Fuck This” by Munchi

Leading up to the main chorus it’s much more relaxed, then BOOOM the main chorus beat hits you. I think if you adjusted your song this way they main chorus would be more noticeable. You did a much better job of this in the second lead-up to the second chorus.

Hope that helps you  keep in mind i’m not a producer by any stretch of the imagination, so I have a tremendous amount of respect for what you guys have created.

All the best!

first of all: great work! i really like the lead synth and the track overall. i don’t mind it going full on action the whole time. kinda my style.

i think you guys have overdone it a little with the chorus/dimension expander thing. theres too much reverb going on. can’t tell what it will sound like on a big system though. might just be amazing.

i’ve put a little comment on your soundcloud, too.

btw: i’d love to have a go at a remix. check out my stuff too (signature) if you like.

thanks for the critique and comments- this was the first moombahton production for both of us, so the little things definitely will help for the future.

bmo: thanks a lot man, really appreciate it! - and Munchi is a much better producer than us (probably) we’ll get there though!

illstep: thank you too, and yeah - we tried to make it a crazed moombah track, that’s why its also at 115 BPM.

As for the chorus/dimension expander thing, we didn’t use either - so it’s probably a result of the mastering, but it sounds fucking amazing on a big system. Shoot me your e-mail in a PM or here if you’d like and we’ll discuss remixing.

both of you: feedback like this is so appreciated you have no idea, especially after checking this thread after the ‘official dj/production’ thread on a paintballing forum I used to frequent where the ‘dj/producers’ are such idiots.

theres not a hell lot of reverb in this track? what? it’s like all over the place! is it just the main synth with a hell lot of reverb or did you route more stuff in there?

i’d like the kickdrums to be more present/banging btw. the high part of the synth lead is too loud in comparison to the drums/hats. i’d like the whole drumset to be more present. also more grid/presence on the wobble that comes in with the second drop. (great buildup btw)

what is the track used in the aire atlantica promo? like that.
and also which email adress?

ps. what would you expect from a non-edm forum? i used to be into tournament paintball as well and certainly not for their music tastes

btw: thats a great youtube/soundcloud channel up there in the munchi vid. thanks for sharing!

haha of course theres DEFINITELY a lot of reverb, i’m just saying we didn’t use chorus or a dimension expander, i’m also not familiar with a dimension expander though (fill me in here). I’m thinking it probably as well as chorus is just something else that adds ‘space’ to the sound. I believe there’s just reverb - not positive - projects not on this computer and I don’t remember.

dude, you have no idea, i hate it over there so much lol

  1. yeah the lead has alot of reverb, i think he got a little mixed up lol. we also threw alot of reverb on the percussion and cyms (obviously), i think this track on a club system would sound huge.

  2. the song from my promo is “Alive (Albin Myers Remix)” by Adrian Lux ft. The Good Natured- check it out here

and yeah man I find that although drums are probably the easiest to write, they’re probably the hardest to mix

so true! dimension expander is another form of chorus in native instruments massive. i am not sure what either does (chorus doubles and phase shifts?) but they do about the same with a different sound.

thanks for the links and all. any chance you know where to find an instrumental version? the lyrics are somewhat awful. might just have to make my own edit.
