New original track from me, more on the tech house side and straight to the point

Tried to do a tune that was more straight to the point and just rocked out, simple enough. I tried using less tracks than I usually do and really tried to push myself to make a simple and yet effective groove that should just move the dance floor. This one is way more DJ friendly if you will compared to my other tracks.

Started and finished this tune in the past three days. Was taking a break from the Guy Gerber remix and just banged this out real quick. Still missing a few things like some white noise build ups here and there and some fills and crashes but it still works out well as it is.

Any and feedback and suggestions are welcomed.

Just realised I posted the wrong tune here, fixed it and now the right track is posted

i dig it…

i like it, it has that minimal taste to it. and there are many types of tech house and i like a few and this cud be a type i like. cuz it has that minimal flavor to it. the druggies will appreciate your work done here! roll-on! hahaa

Thanks for the input guys. Could also use your feedback on this remix I’m working on for a contest,

I like it, but I need it to do something else… it seems like its simply and extended pocket beat, my mind is looking for what should happen next (not that i know what that next is… lol)

I wasn’t really planning on it to be nothing more than you described. Good tool to build up the tension for the tracks with the big drops. This one is a bit more docile and have it lure you in. The original stems do make a sneak peak with a bit of processing but that’s it, in and out before you know it.

take it then take an effect machine and start playing around with effects. that song is good for that. you decide when to bring it up and when to bring it down =] make ur own drops at ur discreet time =P shhh no one will expect it=]

nice! it does have that minimalist sound to it and is really “smooth” sounding. Would be cool hear some changes in the filter cut-off of that main synth as we reach the end of a cycle perhaps but that’s just my opinion. Keep the good stuff coming!

That’s a pretty good idea, might mess around with some filter automation. Good looking out!

Liking it. A litte repetitive though if you just listen to it. Would work great as a track for tying two different parts of a mix together. Would be fun to play around with it live, throwing in differents samples, loops and just messing around with effects.

What do you mean by repetitive exactly? I made sure that there was enough stuff going on in the arrangement so it wouldn’t get repetitive.

= p

Well, for starters there wasnt much of a chord change. Im personally very fond of interesting chord-combinations and melodies in relation to them. The second thing is small sudden variations that just occur maybe once in the whole tune. Can be something as simple as cutting out one of the kicks or reversing 1/4 of a bar or something. I can listen to one track for hours just to hear things like that. Listen to the Uppermosts remix of Memory (originally by Swen Weber and Jewelz) and pay some extra attention to 1.44-1.46 or 3.57-4.01. Maybe not the best examples but the first that came to mind.

Now, dont get me wrong,I really like this track a lot. Just giving you some creative tips and ideas for future productions.

I understand what you mean about the chord changes, wasn’t really going for that though. Just wanted something that added to the groove per se and not get to crazy with it as I didn’t want it to take away from the groove.

I understand where you’re coming from now as a whole. That stuff is cute and cheeky for sure, just not what I like to do.

With that being said, I remember reading an interview with Ben Klock once and he said something that really stuck with me,

“When you produce, if after two minutes you need to add something to make it exciting again, then maybe the groove or the loop is just not good enough. To work on it until you really find something you’re happy with, that you can listen to for ten minutes without it getting boring, that’s really the idea, the art behind it.”

Something I try to focus on, maybe not to the extent that those guys do but if you’re groove isn’t strong enough and you need to keep doing little cheeky things like Kobbe mentioned then maybe you should rethink your project.
