NEW Razer Blade Pro 14", the best mbp alternative for djing?
What do you guys think of this? Seems like one amazing product, especially in the build quality department.

Can’t really comment on the build quality if it hasn’t been released yet?
Lol- Razer with amazing build quality? If it’s anything like their mice or keyboards it will be complete junk that disintegrates in a year or two.
Can’t even count how many of their mice I had bought that would always fall apart. I don’t know why I kept buying them as long as I did.
Considering the already fantastic build of the blade, it surely hasn’t decreased since then.
Agreed with peripherals, but have you ever had the blade in hand? It really is comparable to a mbp in terms of build.
I have not. Is it machined out of solid pieces of aluminum?
It is ![]()
the only complaint i had about the older model was it being a 17", seems like they managed to shrink the thing quite a bit.
And the speakers sound tinny
And the keyboard isn’t as nice as the mbp
Still, these are really non-vital features, except if you’re a heavy typist..
i presume you want to game also? if not its over kill…
The reviews of the current Blade say the keyboard and trackpad are quite bad, both of which are strong features of the MBP. Battery life is also very poor.
Although i do game sometimes on my desktop, i wouldn’t really have as much as an experience on a laptop. So no, the gpu wouldn’t be a selling point for me. Still, much better built than some other gaming laptops ![]()
As i mentioned before, the keyboard is not that good, but the trackpad damn well is! And early reviews praise the non-switchblade trackpad of the 14" as extremely precise and responsive.
way too much money for a good GPU that you don’t need for DJ’n…that’s MacBook pro money
Occasional gaming. Also, check title, i’m comparing it to the
Mbp as a windows alternative ![]()
You can get an ASUS UX32VD which will satisfy all your needs.
The 620M in the Asus isn’t much of an improvement over the Intel HD 4000, and the gap will be even smaller once Haswell is introduced.
Now THAT is a flimsy laptop. The keyboard is extremely shallow and the one i tried at the store already had a cracked screen..
Haswell has an usb bug in the c1 step just as sandy had one with sata ports in its first iteration… So given that the c2 revision will be out in july, i’d say wait at least for september to buy anything haswell, that’s what i’ll do, you don’t want your usbs failing on ya just a couple months after you bought the computer dontya ![]()
Who could want that?
I wasn’t aware Razer made notebooks (AU gets on the tail end of the electronics train)
If the build quality on a Razer notebook is twice as good as the build quality on their peripherals it will still be shit.
You razer fans can slag me as much as you want, I’m a returns manager in a computer store and their stuff is absolute garbage. I’m not even a fan of Apple but putting Razer in the same league is hilarious.
No one who is vaguely serious about this DJing lark is going to use the same laptop that they rely on in a club situation to play games as well.
