New Social Bookmarking Feature
Yo guys,
Just implemented a new feature to the site !
Now on the bottom of every post there is social bookmarking links so you can put up useful or even funny threads that you guys like onto your facebook, twitter, google, digg, del.icio.us, stumble upon or google pages.
If anyone has any request for any other sites let me know and ill try my best to add them
You can check out an example of what they will look like on my facebook page here: Facebook - i facebooked the FAQ as a test - feel free to add me to your friends list as well if you haven’t already
Can we not have a google reader link instead of a google bookmark?
Looking for info on trying to get it into google reader atm - i need the add link which is alluding me
I never use google reader so i checked it out. Is what your trying to do is get an RSS feed to a thread ?
Nice one. Might try this out once i sober up
I’ve already added the blog as an rss feed entry at my google reader but on the other hand i think you can’t see any comment on the article you have selected. You need to go to the blog to post comments. Don’t know how it would work with a forum thread.
This needs to be on the blog posts to. Let me get some more coffee in me and I’ll make some suggestions.
I agree it needs to be on blog posts, i have been suggesting to Ean to do it for some time. Ironic though i have been asking him to do it for a while, while i just have implemented it
- though to be honest i never thought about putting it in the forums until today.
Theres lots of WP plugins that do it, its just a matter of installing it onto the blog.
The things I use in Reader are Star in reader which is just an internal bookmark type deal and Share which sends it out to facebook, twitter, etc… For myself I’m not sure I’ll post forum threads to any of these, but I might on some of the regular articles.
Here’s some of the other popular social bookmarking sites and blogs.
Blogger
Word Press
FriendFeed
Instapaper
Read It Later
MySpace
Orkut
Ping.fm
Posterous
Reddit
Tumblr

@BentoSan
I think this would push blog posts and forum threads out faster to the people that subscribe to them via some kind of reader.
