just reading over on scratchworx that vdj7 (new software) can have up to 99 decks, what the hell is all i can say.
i really hope for midi clock sync this time, so i can start using ableton in my setup.
Oh, and i´m sure its possible to run this much decks. maybe not video, but audio i´m sure. I´ve been told the new version doesnt need as much ressources. And right now with v6 i had once 16 decks going at once with multi instance. Not mixed, who does that anyways, but they all played along together without hiccups, pops and crackles.
Next month i´ll write a review when its released, with everything a controllerist wants to know
Wow, most people don’t even know what to do with a 3rd and 4th deck! But to be honest, I can’t wait till I see the first “How to use all 99 decks in VDJ” video on YouTube.
Noone needs to use 99 decks. Thats just insane. But technically its possible, and i am sure there is a mobile dj or two that really like the idea to have some songas ready to go. With having some spare decks they can easily react to a situation and just drop one of the other decks.
In reality it will come down to 6 or 8 decks. 2 or 4 for main mixing and some sample decks.
In my case, i cant wait to mix 6 videos and some moviecutss
I think perhaps they should concentrate on other salient points like:
‘our software is now stable!’
and
‘not all the skins look like crap’
…rather than outrageous claims that make it sound like dubious science in a shampoo advert. It is obviously now very capable software… deal with peoples misconceptions about it first rather than a gimmicky number.
