NI Audio 2 v Focusrite Saffire 6

NI Audio 2 v Focusrite Saffire 6

So to keep it short i’m getting some KRK RP8s soon and decided I should get a soundcard to go with them. Which is best?

At the moment I only need to route sound from my Macbook Pro → Soundcard → KRK. I’ll be using 1/4 to XLR cables to connect soundcard and KRKs.

I’m leaning towards the Audio 2 simply because I don’t think I need all the extras with the Saffire 6. If I start producing i’ll invest in a better interface. Purely from a quality point of view would you agree the Audio 2 probably best fits my needs to connect my laptop and speakers, along with headphone cueing if i require?

Thanks,
Alex

`unless you get some adapters you’ll have to run a single rca into each speaker.

Well it depends what you want to do, if you want to dj with the speakers i would go with the focusrite as it will have enough channels for both speakers and a set of monitor headphones. The focusrite also has a better selection of outputs as well as 2 inputs which could help with your producing if you ever want to record instruments.

If price is similar go for the Focusrite. It is excellent interface and has rarely loud/quality mic/inst preamps while remaining bus powered. Built like a tank too.

I have the focusrite and absolutely love it, having played out with it yet but driving my rp5s the sound.is great, and as mentioned the preamps are amazing as is the.build.
