No love for Pioneer DJM-T1

No love for Pioneer DJM-T1

For someone who has two technic 1200 mk2’s with shure m447, I’m looking for the right digital mixer for Traktor. What is your opinion on the Pioneer DJM-T1 mixer for traktor. It seems nobody is talking about this mixer. Why is that? Thanks!

edit: don’t post before your morning coffee :stuck_out_tongue:

I think hes talking about this padi

The mixer is a GOOD mixer, just extremely overpriced for what you get.

Thanks! My bad that’s the mixer I am referring to. What if I got my local music store to drop to 860 (which I did). Worth it?

depends..if you’re a pio fanboy and use mac…sure
if you use pc you would be better of with a denon X600 + X1 (cheaper, easier to sell later, you get a proper mixer with EFX, send/return,…etc..)

I dont own one, but I always have thought it was a pretty cool mixer

Is this mixer that bad?

I’m literally about to get one…

I’d advise checking out the Denon DNX 1600 before buyng

i think the price tag is too high, at first glance I see a DJM-400 with a USB soundcard and some midi buttons for traktor. For djs that use DVS i see them getting a DJM800/900 for going the Rane route for that price. Pio over priced it by 1.5x for what it should sell

That bad? There’s not a thing thats bad about it. Tight integration of controls w/ Traktor, scratch certified sound card, and it even comes w/ Traktor Scratch Pro license. A lot of people on DJTT are gonna push the Denon 1600 (pretty good mixer too) just cause the built in FX and 4 channels suits more of the EDM crowd, which is the crowd that is predominant around here. Either way, both good mixers. FYI: Denon 1600 doesnt come with any software license

It looks pretty suited to what I need. I’m using 2 x technics…

I’ve got the option to use CDJs if i want to.
It comes with the software.
Effects are available through Traktor
Nicely integrated with Traktor (I was previously using an analogue mixer and an X1 - this looks much more accessible)

If I was to go down the Denon route, i’d have to buy the software and an X1, the advantage being the built in effects (still got effects in Traktor) and the 2 additional channels (which I won’t use). Yet I’d lose the integration.

I’m from Manchester in the UK and the name “EDM” makes my skin crawl.

Lol i’m from Newcastle, same here

Just for reference, everything on the Denon 1600 is MIDI mapable if you wanted to go that route. It becomes a bit confusing though when you map stuff like EQ’s to do other stuff like FX inside traktor, but it does have a few seperate encoders and buttons that sole purpose is to be mapped to software. Still not nearly as simple as having something that was designed and layed out to be used w/ Traktor like the DJM T1. Personally, I like the T1 a lot

so do i, but it’s still a denon x600 + ni x1 with double the price and minus the mixer EFX and chanel curve controls.

How is it double the price? The DJM will cost less

Especially considering the x600 isnt scratch certified so you would need to buy an audio interface. (yes I do know the trick for the x600, but that only worked in windows…not even sure if you can do that anymore anyways)

Not feeling the X600 to be fair.

so no love for the T1?

I bought one, i’ll report back. Seems pretty solid so far.
