Note to those of you using an APC40

Well I decided to try everything I could to lower the CPU spike when you hit a hotcue or jump in the track.

Found 2 fixes

  1. If you are one who mixes stuff ranging 1-2 bpm difference, turn off your keylock. It REALLY hits it hard.

  2. If you are someone like me and mixes a large range of bpm, set the audio interface to have 512 samplerate and 44.1khz range. should keep it low and stable even under intense times!

Solution2 kinda sucks since it might raise you to a 15ms latency but whats more important? Getting your mix done or dropouts?

Or you use your APC40 with Ableton and win.

ive looked at so many guides on ableton djing… I still dont understand any of them

There’s a lot less on-the-fly stuff you can do with Ableton as opposed to Traktor, like looping and beatjumping. I prefer DJing with Ableton because I don’t have to worry about beatmaching, APC40s are a lot cheaper than S4s, and complicated setups. :3

But, yeah… What’s not to understand?

Wrong. You’ve read the wrong tutorials.

Then you should send me in the right direction.

Cheers for that!

Gonna test option 1.

let me know if it works for ya
