Ns7fx

I’ve been keeping an eye on the NS7FX for when i eventually buy some gear. this has got me puzzled, now being in Australia we pay a lot more for everything compared to the rest of the world, just because we live in Australia. but i can get the NS7 for $1999AUD and the FX module for $329AUD separate so basic math tells you that it costs $2328AUD yet from the same store as the separate pieces the NS7FX pack is $2599AUD that’s $271 more expensive. and the only noticeable difference is that you get a laptop stand. then again from the same store you can buy a Numark laptop stand for $89 so even if you purchase all the items separate its still $182 cheaper.
Am i missing something or does this seem backwards?

What does the NS7FX pack have extra that makes it more expensive. if i do get the NS7FX i dont really require the laptop stand anyway.

The NS7FX is definitely a really cool controller–I was enamored with it at first. But considering the weight (70 lbs I believe) and high I don’t think its worth it. I would opt for (a) actual turntables or (b) a controller w/ built in effects such as the VCI 100/300.

I heard some bad things about the cueing on the NS7. It definitely is really fun to play around with it, but I don’t think its worth the investment.

It really depends on your style of playing. For the closest thing to playing a turntable type set up, the price is great and portability is great (in comparison to turntables, but sucks compared to a VCI). It’s all relative - two 1200’s(used) + carts + mixer + software ends up around the same price(if you do it cheap). The luxury of the NS7 is that its plug and play, and much more portable.

The VCI-100/Traktor combo is definetly cheaper, but I think geared for a different type of DJ that the NS7 target group. Both have their advantages and both have their set backs. And I don’t just mean the platters and software, but the ability to plug in a mic, balanced XLR outputs, etc.

I think they are both great systems for what they are meant to do.

Does the more expensive package come with the case??

BuckyDonePun i dont think you even read my post i wasnt asking for opinions of the ns7
