couldn’t find any threads about this, not sure how long its been around.
Looks like a black version of the omni control with no built in soundcard.
Could be a nice cheap basic midi controller.
Assuming it’s not crap. I’ve heard the total control had nasty construction and the omni control has a bunch of midi issues in traktor.
One of my best mates has the Omni control, it works fine in his bedroom setup using Traktor 3.2. The sound is surprisingly good (to my untrained ears). The Omni was purchased by himself purely because of the cost factor, buying a decent midi control with a separate audio interface soon adds up, especially for something what is purely used for abit of bedroom mixing. The Omni has everything you need (bar headphones and a laptop).
Its nothing like the build quality of my black VCi-100 though… so I’m pretty happy with my choice.
i just bought a stealth and nanopad this weekend, though im REALLY clueless on setting the functions in traktor, could someone please point me the right way?
if your truely a bedroom dj like I am then there is no need to buy a external sound card at all…you can buy a cheapo usb sound card to use for cueing and the laptops soundcard can be pluggd to an more powerful speaker system in my case a 4.1 surround sound…works great for me so far
Well,
I`ve got the Total Control, which has the same layout and presumably uses the same hardware, ie. rotaries, faders, buttons etc.
The layout is kind of useful - especially the eight endless rotaries.
The downside is that the built quality really is not too astonishing. After just over a year of use my volume faders start to disintegrate and just don’t go smooth anymore. tried some WD40 hoping that it was corrosion but didn’t have any success. It was in mild use for about a year and has only seen 2 parties out of the house.
Once I had a firmware issue (which probably is a specific TC issue) but the customerservice was really not able to help me in any way or rather sent me two cryptic emails, after a while could be persuaded to send me a firmware update but then again that didn’t help with the problem and sometimes Traktor just does not recognize the control unit. (which never happened with my Nanopad and Nanokontrol)
If you don’t need jogwheels but want a soundcard you might consider the Vestax VCM whatever and add a Nanokontrol for extrafx. Shouldn’t be that much more expensive.
First Off I want To say That Everyone Here Including DJ Techtools Deserve The greatest Respect For All The Q&As Giving In this Webpage and Solutions that Help out Our fellow DJz. I recently Purchased My Traktor Pro, With My Numark Stealth and I Love It, I’m also an Ableton User So I Have my extra Midi controllers at hand, Now what I would Like to Do is Have my Normal setup for the Stealth to Be the same and Just Add my Nano Kontrol as the controller for decks C and D. I Hope Someone can Help Me On this if Possible! Thanks! ~Izzy~ A-K-A DJ Dertz
Hi guys, excuse my ignorance but I’m new to all this. I’m just wondering whether the Numark Stealth Control would work with the NI Audio Kontrol 1 as the audio interface?
The Numark Stealth is great. For about $300 dollars you can get one at guitar center with their warranty and never have to worry about it for three years. I got this thinking I would break it or have beer poured in it like my vci100. So far it has never broken. I actually like the feel of the knobs and the knob layout much better than the vestax. It is built extremely well. It’s been launched off the end of a table and survived with no injuries. As far as Traktor goes… I use Traktor 3, which works perfectly and mirrors the Stealth layout. It really is a great combination. Combined with a soundcard and a KP3, it is a great setup. This controller needs more attention…
Just got this controller and love it. The knobs feel great and the general layout is good.
I’m new to the forums and have been searching a bit about this controller and it doesn’t get as much attention as the oh so praised VCI 100 or even the Hercules Rmx … I wish some midi-mapping genious could make some ill .tsi for the Stealth …
The best mapping comes from your own imagination PhiLihP.
First think what you want mapped, than think of the best spots to have it mapped.
After which you can sketch it on paper first and apply the sketch to the MIDI mapping in traktor.
OK, so it looks like we never got the mappings figured out? I have the newest version of Traktor Pro, but when I setup the MIDI controller (using wizard) it doesn’t map everything out correctly. Also, the mappings file from Numark don’t match up any better. I’ve had to use Traktor Studio 3, which only works/matches 95% or so, but has provided the essentials for all my sets & mixes, but I really want to start using Pro. Any help?
Not to sound like a d-bag, but xerosai just posted up his mapping and it’s pretty awesome. A little searching would have probably directed you to that thread. Not really a big deal, just saying. It may not be 100% what you want, but it’s something that works with pro that you can build off of and learn from if you study how everything is labeled in the mapping section of the preferences. Good luck!
